dernian
My apologies for my first post being a for sale post but I bought a bass 6 months ago on a whim and I haven't played it that much. I'm mainly a 6-string guitar player and thought this would be fun but as I say I haven't really been grabbed by it. It did encourage me to play my 6-string more so I guess that's a good thing. Anyway... This is an E-series Japan made bass which means it was made between 1984 and 1987. The model number is PB-551. I understand that this is a well regarded period of Japanese made fender basses. This bass is in very good condition overall with a few light scratches here and there. It all works very well, plays well and has new strings fitted. A well used hard case is included. I'd prefer you to collect this bass partly because it's not that common a model and I don't want to risk giving it to a courier and partly because I want you to be happy with it *before* you hand your money over. If you really want me to I'll organise a courier to get the bass to you. I imagine that this will cost about £20 but will price it up properly if there's interest. In the event you buy it and you want it shipped to you then if you aren't happy with it then I'll happily refund you the buying price but not the postage... I hope you think that this is reasonable and fair... I'm not argos after all I've asked advice on a price and £350 is a price I'm happy with. This covers what I paid for it and according to the advice I've been given isn't over the top. Regards, Mark PS. Since taking the pictures I've applied lemon oil sparingly to the fret board so it now looks darker. PPS. In the unlikely event someone who plays bass went out and bought a schecter c-1 6-string or the like and wants a trade I'd be interested. To clarify this I'd be interested in a 6-string guitar, not a bass... sorry. Already have strat, rick 330, SG and acoustic but would be interested in a metal/speed oriented hard tail 6-string guitar like the schecter C1. dernian
This isn't a great photo and you'll have to excuse the mess but this is a picture of the bass after I used lemon oil on the fret board. It's taken away that dry look and is now darker. It looks duller in the photo but in the flesh it looks almost as good as my two year old strat. There are some other fretboards to compare against. It's quite a bit darker than the strat and way darker than the orangey rosewood they used on the rick (and the rick is varnished). Cheers, Mark
dernian
Bizarre... this is the bass I'm selling for sale a year ago... old ad. The guy must have sold it to the shop I bought it from. That's the case that comes with it by the way. Paul S
VERY Nice. If I hadn't just snaffled up a Power Jazz Special from Geddys Nose I'd have had this in a blink. Good price, too. Can I ask out of curiosity what is the neck width at the nut?

I don't know much about basses admittedly but if they're anything like 6-strings no number of them satisfies the desire to acquire Anyway... 1 5/8".
