sk8 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Currently got a DHA Fuzzy feeling which is based on a Colorsound ToneBender MKII Professional. Good fuzz but it takes up alot of real estate. Looking for a smaller form fuzz maybe with a sort of different flavour but the same! I'm currently using the DHA for Muse's Starlight and Snow Patrols cover of Crazy in Love. I'm after a thick fuzz sound, i guess not muff like? The SFX and ZVEX are in the same sort of price bracket although the micro has a 2 week lead time. Any views thoughts or alternatives? Thanks in advance Quote
deej Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 The SFX Micro Fuzz does a thick fuzz really well, lots of low end on tap too. Plus its one of the only fuzzes ive played that doesnt hiss at me when I crank the drive up. Quote
Tuco Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 if you dont mind shelling out a few more quid and putting up with a bit more lead time : http://ironether.com/pedals/oxide/ is WELL worth a punt! Quote
Dosi Y'Anarchy Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I've owned both and would honestly say the microfuzz, it's smoother and far more in line for muse-like sounds Quote
sk8 Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 thanks for the reply's. the micro fuzz sure is tempting and its teeny weeny too Quote
mcgraham Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I've got the mastotron and love it - infinitely tweakable for guitar and bass. Well worth a look (I got mine 45 quid used!) I've not used the micro fuzz but have a few SFX products and am sure that would be amazing as well. I'm sure you can't go wrong with either. Quote
sk8 Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Dammit!!! Zvex does look cool. Does the SFX handle actice basses? Quote
sk8 Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 may just get a BBM as a cheap option Quote

dannybuoy Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 The SFX is great for a Muse sound. If you want to borrow mine I wouldn't mind a temporary swap with your DHA fuzz! Quote
sk8 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 i do song 2 and bohemian like you with my fuzz so i'm not after just muse sounds A swap sounds cool Quote
Salt on your Bass? Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Not meaning to derail this thread but do you have any soundclips of this anywhere? Looks pretty tasty and nice functions! Might drop them a line.
