TheRockinRoadie Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Hi all, I've decided its about time i treated myself to a decent strap. On my P-bass i use an old TGI leather strap, and for my MM Jazz i have a no-name wide suede strap. Now i've bought my Lakland, I'm looking for a decent strap to use with that. I've looked on various websites, and the number of different straps are unbelievable! Does anyone here know of any good straps to recommend? I've been looking at Levy's, DSL and TGI. My only requirements are that its fairly plain (eg no fancy patterns, or bullets attached) and that its at least 3.5" wide. Padding would be nice also. Budget isnt too important, the Levys M4GF i was looking at is £39, so thats a guide. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! Lorry Quote
Lozz196 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I`ve got a Levys "aged" leather strap, don`t know the serial number, and have never seen one anywhere since buying it. Its prob the dimensions you`ve mentioned. I play a Precision, and at gigs we play two 1hr sets, and I don`t get any problems with this strap - I have a fairly bad back anway, so a good strap is essential for me. Can def give Levys a thumbs-up. Quote

Randy_Marsh Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I bought a Bass Centre Comfort Strap for about £20 which I think is pretty good if you want a nice wide padded strap Quote
Jerry_B Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I always use Couch straps - they're very well made and come in some interesting styles. I have a b&w 'Racer X' strap with my T-40, and it takes the weight of that with no problems. That strap is also quite chunky, so pads out the weight nicely. Quote
TheRockinRoadie Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 Cheers for the replies everyone! After looking through some old threads, i've decided to order a Minotaur strap. They look fantastic for the money so it was a no-brainer. Cheers L Quote
