neepheid
As I gazed thoughtfully at my Gibson G-3, I thought to myself "you don't see many basses with 3 (or more) pickups". I thought it might be fun to try and list as many as I could. Feel free to add any I've missed Gibson G-3 EBMM Big Al Fender Urge Danelectro Hodad Burns Bison (and Marquee and others) Ibanez JTKB300 Can anyone think of any others? risingson
There used to be a bass in my Uni, it had 4 single coils, had an Italian type name? It sounded bloody terrible. EDIT - could have been a DiPinto but I don't think it was. Edited November 10, 2010 by risingson

Musicman20
After being dubious about the Big Al, after testing one for a weekend, I can definitely say the 'strat' style 3 single coils works very well on a bass, as long as they 'get it right' so to speak. Ou7shined
My latest project nearly went down this route. But seriously, if you think about it any HS bass has 3 pups in it because inside that humbucker sits 2 very separate pups.... fragglefart
I won a Fret-King Blue Label Ventura Super 80 Bass a while back, that has three pickups. Great fun to play with some of the meaty sounds you can coax from the humbucker & P combination. Interesting shape too, the finish is decent - bloody heavy though! 'scuse the crappy pic!
