makatak
When I pack away my Ashdown Little Giant after a rehearsal/practice , i rekon I could fry an egg on the bottom of it , the top and sides are relatively cool , ive put stick-on feet to lift the chassis for more ventilation but still hot , is this common with the likes of markbass and Genz Benz as well ? , Ive never noticed the fan coming on and I dont drive it hard either . guybrush threepwood
It sounds like the fan should be coming on... My Markbass was always quite warm after gigs, but I wouldn't describe it as hot.
Lozz196
I`ve got two Class D amps, Marshall DBS 7400 and Orange Terror Bass, and not had anything like that. Warm, yes, hot, no. It does sound like the fan isn`t working.
chris_b
If you’ve got a fan and it isn’t working then that might need looking at. But some of these amp manufacturers use the case as a heat sink, ie they get hot by design. To my knowledge SWR and Thunderfunk do this. MoonBassAlpha
The Shuttle 3.0 (no fan) doesn't got hot. A bit warm, that's all.
BassBod
EA500 - no fan, never gets warm. EA Micro has fan (always on)...doesn't seem to get warm either...but I guess it will, or it wouldn't have the fan?
Bill Fitzmaurice
My Super Fly would get quite hot if not fan cooled, so I added one. I assume that was a lesson learned by Ashdown as well. I'd have the thermistor bypassed to run it constantly, especially as the thermistor seems non-functional anyway.

TPJ
AI Focus 1 gets quite warm to the touch but has been like that for years with no problems. I think it's designed to dissipate heat with the case.
markstuk
You could contact Ashdown and ask them... They're pretty responsive... Try Guy Morrel at Cheers Mark
