larrikin
yeah i know he uses a tech 21 sansamp di, or has used one in the past. but the sockets at the back don't look like the same. could it be anything else? i assume as it's not near his foot it is to plug straight into the pa. john_the_bass
can't really see any chance of a bigger picture? (I think it's a DI box as well) who is it anyway? Is it yer man out of KOL?
larrikin
yeah jared from kings, i have that bass in black and also the svt classic head, but no cab as of yet!!! if you click the picture it goes bigger... but thats the largest and clearest one i found. if it isnt the tech 21 what else could it be? cheddatom
There are loads of different "no name" DI boxes out there. I think it's nothing special. Edited January 9, 2008 by cheddatom

99ster
That will definitely be a DI box - but it's not a Sansamp or any of the other usual suspects that a pro pa company might use (countryman, radial, bbe)... Doubt if it's anything exciting & will be there just to provide a clean bass signal to the pa.
larrikin
hmm, wonder what one it is then, i know he's used a sansamp before...

Guest TheBigBeefChief
"what is the difference between a russian and american muff?" You have to be careful when using a Russian muff because Chernobyl fall out.
larrikin
do you know where i can find one? also what is the difference between the boss dd-5 and dd-6? and what is the black stompbox next to the russian muff? Higgie
Agreed but could be a DD-6
Yeah, I thought so too, but I thought it would most likely be a DD-5.
wow thats some pretty f***in good info there!! what is the difference between a russian and american muff?
Apart from looking different, the American model is suppose to be more refined, and the Russian more wild.
do you know where i can find one? also what is the difference between the boss dd-5 and dd-6? and what is the black stompbox next to the russian muff?
You can get them basically any music shop, and they're all over eBay. The DD-6 has more modes than the DD-5, and also has stereo ins and outs. The black box next to the muff looks to me like an fx loop pedal, or an Amp selector, as you can see he has 2 Ampeg rigs. matt_citizenbass
ergh i hate jared with that bass. he should have sticked to his gibson EBO.
larrikin
what makes you think it will be the dd-5 over the dd-6? sureley the dd-6 must be better? and i have a thunderbird, which i find much better than the EBO.
larrikin
What about the one to his right? i know the one on the left is the boss pedal, but that one to his right with all the switches??
cheddatom
TC electronic controller or G system or whatever it's called. Or it could just be a midi foot-controller. To the right of that is a white boss pedal but you can't tell what it is.
Higgie
Most probably a TU-
larrikin
Yeah it's a Voodoo pedal... wouldn't have a clue how to use one
RhysP
He uses an Avalon U5 Passive DI/Preamp so maybe that's what the box on the amp you're asking about is.
