DR Neon strings. Anyone tried them?

Sorry guy's but i really don't get this. It's kinda like the road worn / marmite thing. I know it's different stroke's for different folk's and i don't want to p1$$ anyone off but they do look chav. Soz

They're definitely a love/hate thing, thats for sure.

I've personally just received a set off a fellow basschatter who didnt get on with them. Neon orange! Oh yes! They'll be going on tonight.

They look the dog's, just whether they play well or not, I've yet to find out.

Can anyone advise a good supplier in the States for all brands of strings and not just DR's?

I normally use Elixir's.

So I managed to source some off a kind forum member in the wanted section, and here's how mine look!

Finally ordered some green ones.

When they get here I shall load them onto my Status Streamline (if I can find the little grub screws for use with normal strings). The bass has green LEDs too.

Should look disgusting!!!

Ive recently brought some Black beauties. im not sure how they directly compare with the Neons but i dont like these either. I think they both feel a bit brittle.

Just put on fresh set of oranges on my tribby G&L. So far sounds better than old set of d'addrio XL's.

Had a set of greens on my black Yammy for about 9 months, love em! using our new LED lights last night seemed to make em flouresce like crazy, will know for sure when I see the pics the Drummers SWMBO took, watch this space

does anyone use their own blacklight for these or just rely on the venue? If you do use your own, any recommendantions? Ive seen 40w strip lights for about £30.. just wondered if they are strong enough to make the most of the neon effect.

I just put some Black beauties on my Stingray to try and tame it a bit, after one practice I'm not totally sold yet, even tho I do like the feel of them.
I remember donkeys years ago trying some steel Roto's that had a black coating, but they went dead and lifeless very quickly, I never bothered again with them.

Didn't Chris Wolstenhome do that at that Olympics thingy? Looked a bit weird depending on which spot was on him as some strings 'disappeared' under some lights
