rob_89
Im in the process of collecting parts for a new project and a bit stumped by the electrics! Ive seen this set up - http://www.thomann.de/gb/emg_jx_set.htm?si...f865aa3c01f317a Its a little unclear on the website at first and may appear that its just the p/ups for sale but just to the right theres a 'different perspectives' bit with photos of the pots etc. Would this be all i needed to get for the electrics? Also anyone with experience of EMG stuff feedback would be much appreciated!! Any advice very welcome. Many thanks, Rob
neepheid
EMGs do indeed come with all the wiring you need to get going - The J-X set comes like this: http://www.emginc.com/products/index/214/245/2 Which looks pretty comprehensive to me. In my experience, EMGs are amongst the easiest things to get going nowadays with the quick connect stuff (no soldering). That photo on Thomann suggests slightly older stuff when the pickups came with traditional soldered looms. Hope you get the sw@nky new stuff EDIT: profanity filter, are you seriously saying I can't say S-W-A-N-K-Y? EDIT2: unbelievable - it even messes up URLs! Edited November 19, 2010 by neepheid
Delberthot
The only instance when you may need something else is if your bass is rear routed but you can buy prewired EMG pots with longer shafts if need be.
