CamdenRob Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 OK here's mine... First clip is my old death metal band doing an At the Gates cover when I was 15 with me on bass and ridiculous vocals and something I recorded a couple of weeks back... bit more mellow, much less hair and fortunately no vocals... Low End Bee Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Sadly (more probably luckily) I haven't got any of the old late 70s early 80s tapes and I haven't seen any the former band members for over 25 years so I'll have to go wth my first recording after coming out of retirement. Here's the only track I can just about bear to listen to from the previous band Magic Ship that all three Jetsonics were in before a bloody coup d'etat in 2009. There's a lot of out of tune out of time awful Americana guff on that 2008 LP. This somehow made it onto the cover mount CD of Classic Rock mag though. Here's the title track fom the last EP we did. I'm a million times more comfortable with what we're doing now. I think the guy at the front was one of our mates who wanted to be in the band... Makes me laugh to think of how serious we used to take it all. I'm convinced that old Status Energy made an apperance in the for sale section last week as well... small world... Quote
Basvarken Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 My band Definition Of MadMen has a new CD/EP. Four songs. Two of them are originals. I used the trusted combination of the Ampeg V4B plus my Gibson Les Paul Bass. But I dialed in a bit more grit on the Basscreamer. http://www.definitionofmadmen.com/uploads/1/3/3/7/13376708/dont_fake_it.mp3 http://www.definitionofmadmen.com/uploads/1/3/3/7/13376708/your_time_is_coming.mp3 Quote
RockfordStone Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 this is my offering, it was the first song i ever wrote and attempted to record. Summer Days i wrote in 2007 to get over a break up, and recorded it direct with an old squier strat (which i still have) and an old zoom multi track deck (which i still have), all very very rough so this year i recorded Summer Days 2013 in a couple of hours earlier this year, and whilst its not perfect, it gives the song more body and the feel i intended when i wrote it, but was never able until recently to perform. really shows how far i have come as a musician and engineer i think. thought you guys may like it Quote
D-L-B Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Old: Dirty Movies, not my first band but the oldest I have access to without a good rummage through my boxed up belongings (I'm in the middle of moving). This was a bit of a tongue in cheek band which me (bass) and my cousin (singer) started with an old school friend of his on guitar. There's questionable/comedy lyrics and cheesey EVH guitar solos at times but it was great fun at the time. http://www.broadjam.com/artists/songs.php?artistID=30485&mediaID=234024&play=true New: Alpha Male Tea Party, my last band. I recorded all the parts for this EP shortly before leaving a while back. They finally got around to releasing it a couple of months ago and are still going with a new bassist. It's kind of "mathy" stuff but again not taking itself too seriously. It's also far more technically evolved than the stuff I used to play. http://alphamaleteaparty.bandcamp.com/ Enjoy Quote
operative451 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Goth band i used to be in with my ex... http://www.reverbnation.com/mothburner/song/240052-among-the-dust This was one of my favourites - no bass on this, just drum machine and me beating 7 bells out of a jazz semi! My first attempt at multi-tracking too, came out, er, a bit lofi, but hey... Quote
Basvarken Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) My band Definition Of Madmen has put a second video online to promote our new album Evil Lullabies. My bass never sounded like that before! Quote
