andyonbass Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Found myself in this situation a couple of times. Arrived at the gig, gear set up and waiting around with the band in the dressing room. A couple of last minute changes to song endings, or perhaps or a new song that needs a bit more polish so the guitarist brings his guitar along to the room and runs through acoustically. Its just about loud enough to do the job, but there's no chance hearing a bass, as you will know. What I'm looking for is something like a fag packet sized, battery powered amp thingy, that wont sound like a fart in a cullender, if such a thing exists. Anyone got any ideas? Quote
risingson Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 (edited) This will do what you need. EDIT unless you need something everyone can hear, in which case this probably painfully little use to you at all, and I'm sorry. I should have been a bit clearer, but thanks for the response Doesn't need to be loud, just small! Quote

I'll nip down the local store and check one out! Cheers Andy Quote
bluesparky Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Ah, Maplin. I spend far too much time and money in there. It looks like quite a bargain and it could be something i may investigate too. Quote

They are useful for unexpected requirements though, provided you know exactly what it is you want and don't need any advice from the sales staff... Quote
KevB Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 If the important aspect is cutting down the bulk size of the thing then it's always going to be a problem with little speakers used ambiently. How about a micro mixer with preamp in it and with 2 headphone outs (or one out with a splitter) so you and guitarist both plug into mixer and both get the same mix out into separate headphones so you both thear what the other is playing. Might look a bit geeky but you might focus more on the music and spot things you would overlook with more exterior noise from the dressing room. Quote
bartelby Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Have you thought of these: Orange Crush Micro You can get them for about £25 Quote
