A mix of punk rock & Kiss for me. :) Mainly 70s.

I bet I won't be the last person to mention Rancid's And Out Come the Wolves though

Really nice groove to this song from Timmy C

Love playing along to this for the tapping after the intro. To me it sounds like someone desperately trying to escape. Plus the drummers pretty good

I've always loved "Wait and Bleed" by Slipknot. One of my favourite tracks of all time, incredible power and melody!

And if you like grooves, check out 03:28 of this video. Sounds like a buidling falling over! "Remission" is easily one of the best records I've ever heard. I could listen to it all day long, and it's some of the only metal that really inspires me.

One for Mr Foxen this one :)

I have rather an eclectic taste in rock music, and this is at the more extreme ends of my taste....Rather interesting bass as well!

Make sure you crank this one all the way to 11 :) Starts off nice and slow, stays slow, and gets rather LOUD!!

Therapy?

Love these guys - one of my scariest moments as an um and err man was watching Michael stage dive from the top of the pa stack at the end of the gig we filmed for DVD! Good job he's only a little fella and the crowd decided to catch him!

Kinda grown out of all this fastness now. But in the day:

E. Limination

Also, how is this for some bass playing:

But the real stuff is:

This from back in the day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzgGTTtR0kc 4mins 30 ish onwards for the drummers out there (yes everyone does it now I know)

This from a bit nearer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLthJDXbq6Y Great bit of plectrum bass!

This from recentish times
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s88r_q7oufE More pelctrum action! Ironically I rarely use one. And another drum lesson for the frustrated drumming bassists note the simple 4 beat and how it rocks. You dont need to play 8 beat on the hi hats all the time and it makes the awesome fills stand out better too.

FWIW I saw Queens of the stone age at Wolverhampton Civic a few years ago (With the Chris Moyles lookalike drummer) and they were the tightest band I have ever seen bar none, Josh Homme never missed one of those artificial harmonics once and whilst singing to an awesome standard all on the off beat etc etc! Mutz Nutz.

+1 for Motorhead's "Bomber" lighting rig. There's some footage on YouTube somewhere, Lemmy climbs on it, up it goes, and he machine guns the crowd with his trusty Rickenbacker! :)

Here's some drop tuned, killer grooves;

And a somewhat bluesy Motorhead......Love the bass sound!

Not particularly a Rush fan, but love this one :)

Exquisite choice :)

If I may be so bold... 5:54 in, listen to how the simplest of bass lines changes this epic tune

From one of my all time favourite albums

If you like it technical, these guys did it first

Suicidal offshoot Infectious Grooves, love the first album still

Fishbone ease the funk for a while and get heavy

and this is just genius... those braces still get me... ehhh... you know :)
