ash Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 I’d say they were incredibly dissimilar but an interesting bass nonetheless 😉 1 Quote

TheGreek Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Nothing to do with me...At £1600 it seems a bit too good to be true TBH. https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/1982-usa-rickenbacker-4003-bass-sunburst/1381358788 Quote

I'd looked at it earlier in the day, but I don't want to spend more cash just now. (A couple of weeks ago it was a set of Moog Taurus I was having to hold back from buying!) Quote

prowla Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 The 5-string is an interesting one - the neck is a bit chunkier, but it is very playable; I really need to put a new set of strings on it to see where it takes me. 1 Quote
walshy Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I have been after a Burgundyglo 4001 Ric for ages, but never seen one for sale within a budget. Something made me look at Bass Direct tonight, about 15 minutes ago and this popped up. All original and its a 1975 ( my YOB ) so its now mine, or it will be when it gets delivered. Man I am super happy. Don't think its a bad price either at £2250. I now cant wait for it to arrive 😁 8 Quote

So did Rickenbacker in the end....I’ll stick with the 4003,just a shame the neck is such a lump at the nut. Quote

Yeah I can understand that, at least with a Fender truss rod you know that you loosen it is the buzz is on the first few frets and tighten if it is in the last few frets, nice and simple Quote
