Oakbear
I've only just discovered this brand, and for the specs on paper they seem amazing value. But how do they compare to established brands in the real world? I've thought about buying a couple of bits to play with as they're so cheap, but don't fancy shelling out 70 odd quid if they're essentially cheap standard pups and preamps..... Opinions appreciated, cheers!
paul h
I am quite a fan of the pickups but never used the preamps. My Aero2 is fitted with them and I have a p bass on the way which may well get an Artec too. For me ceramic pickups sound too harsh and so they are a cheap way to swap to Alnico. neepheid
I've used Artec SE-2 and SE-2A preamps before. Liked the SE-2, still got it in a project bass of mine. Unfortunately I've had bad experiences with the SE-2A (the concentric one) - had two of them crap out on me, both times the concentric pot has gone from working, producing horrible pops and thumps if you wiggle it. pete.young
I have an SE2A in my Bass Collection, all good so far although one of the concentric pots needs a squirt of switch cleaner to stop it crackling. I hope that's all it needs!
mcnach
I've used the 2band and the 3band... they work, but i wouldn't recommend them. Very "meh".
