The reputation of the type 2 Telecaster bass, from which this is modelled, is of delivering unrelieved mud. In this respect, it's a very good copy, as it does mud for the Olympics, as you'd expect from a 'bucker that big and wound to 24kohms. But with a modern amp, you can get round that. If you have a very traditional rig, you'll only like the sound if you also like Gibson basses, although the longer scale does help the Fender be less muddy than a short-scale., So: Muddy? yes. Incurably muddy? Not at all. Well playable? With a good set-up, superb.
Edit: forgot to add that you'll be lucky to see one before the end of June. Fender say mid-June, but I'll believe it when I see it...

Availability: On request. Didn't think they'd actually have any yet...They're showing up on plenty of websites, but no-one in Europe, let alone UK, has them yet. They've just hit the shelves in the States, according to some of my other-forum contacts who are also interested in this bass.
