I thought I'd make a start and if it catches on an admin could make it a sticky of it over the holiday period. You know what it's like, you need to learn a few xmas tunes to throw in at the end of a gig and don't want to go trawling through web sites yourself so how about we make a list of links or post scans of sheet music of our xmas faves so we have a quick resource here on basschat? Probably my all time fave is the Slade classic so here is what looks like a pretty accurate bass tab for that one:

Merry Christmas Everybody (Slade)

I KNEW there was a reason I came back XD

Trying to work out 'all I want for Christmas' and 'Santa Baby' at the moment. Also, 'not tonight santa', because innuendo-filled songs are endless fun :) I could google it, but where's the fun in that?

If I get it done and it sounds decent I'll post the tab. This may not happen until 2019.

It doesn`t need tab, as it`s p*ss easy to work out, but this has to be the best Xmas song ever.

The Sex Pistols & Thin Lizzy collaborate for the festive season!

I only read the intro but it's wrong, walks down to a D in the original, not a G on the 3rd fret of your E, THEN walks around G, Bm, D chords in the verse. Unfortunately IMO it's why tab can't be trusted.

It's one of my favourite Xmas tunes though :)

Ooops, think I posted a wrong link, I was lookingat several versions before posting. I think that has just been transposed to a different key from the original but the basic pattern is OK, this is the one I was going to post;

If it's innuendo you're after, check out Clarence Carter's "Back Door Santa"

Edit - Too lazy to go looking, or to figure it out.[/quote]

It was transcribed in a Christmas issue of Bass Player a couple of years ago if that's any help :)

It is, I learned it for a works xmas party about 7 or 8 yrs ago. If you can get the drummer to do that military type beat it's great to get a bouncy bassline playing off it. Someone in the band said he'd never taken much notice of the bassline until I played it, that might not necessarily have been a compliment though :)
