Musky Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010
<snip> Just about the only gripe I have with ASD is that it won't save files in mp3 format, only as WAV. Highly recommended.
Strange. My version (2.8.5, so a few years old) saves as AIFF (I'm using a mac), MP3, Quicktime and M4a. Quote
Happy Jack Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I wonder if it's a Mac thing (I use only PCs). Or maybe I should have another look ... Quote
Hot Tub Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Just going back to the OP briefly, this is something I've also noticed with some older tracks. I always wondered if they tuned to something other than "standard" A=440Hz? Just a few Hz either way can make a really annoying difference! Most modern tuners can be calibrated to anything from A=430 to A=450 Quote
Happy Jack Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I seriously doubt whether Keef (or most other guitarists of the time) would have had a clue what you were talking about if you mentioned "440Hz" to him. Quote
Musicman20 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I used to play this song with a covers band. The two guitarists basically said 'they probably didnt even realise it wasnt in standard tuning', which I probably agree with. I tried to fathom it out, but yep, something sounds off to my ears. chris_b Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010
....Would be great if it was, powered Johnny Winter and SRV. However, isn't this Jon Paris?....
I was talking about the original, which I though was in the Tommy Shannon period, but I've just dug out the album and the bassist is Randy Jo Hobbs. Quote
icastle Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010
"440Hz"
Four hundred and forty hurts? Not as much as throwin' a f*ckin' telly out the window man... Quote
tauzero Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Of course, you could always get a cheap multieffects that does pitch shifting and use that to bring your bass into tune with the record. Or a cheap Zoom RFX or 1201 1U effects thing - they track well. I'm posh and I use a Tascam bass trainer so I don't need to. Quote
martthebass Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Played this with umpteen covers bands over the years. Don't think I've ever found a 'consistent' version - with the current band I just play what I like and make sure I hit the occasional root (in time) Quote
