stanton119 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Does anyone have any details on this? Song list, release date? This looks to be very handy! Alun Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Is that link correct? It seems to go to a best of CD rather than the book. Cheers Alun Quote
stanton119 Posted January 13, 2008 Author Posted January 13, 2008 I think the amazon page says it was published in May 2007, does anyone know whether this exists or not. Quote

Stuart Clayton Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008
hey Stu, how's the Chic book coming along ? P
Very nicely - I just have this bass teaching job that keeps getting in the way of writing the damn thing... Seriously, it's looking great. Most of the bass transcriptions are done, just sorting out the guitar transcriptions. Incidentaly, it's not full transcriptions, it's been written along the lines of the Motown and James Brown rhythm sections books. That means you get a transcription of the Chorus, the Verse, then all the cool variations that occur in the line. Basically, all you need, all the cool fills etc, but presented in a slightly different way. It makes a lot of sense when you see it, and means i don't have to write a 12 page transcription for each song - original versions of tracks like 'He's The Greatest Dancer' and 'We Are Family' are over 8 minutes long...! Should be out in March. Stu Quote
Floyd Pepper Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Looking forward to the book Stu. Amazing that there's been very little in the way of books/transcriptions of my two favourite bassists and then in the space of a couple of months, along they come. (By the way, feel free to do another book on Marcus) Bloomin' marvelous J Quote
