eubassix Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 (edited) Parker Fly 4 String Bass. Would love to keep this just for its unique character and light-weight, but it doesn't make sense as it's hardly ever being played. There has been some interest-in and much discussion-of this bass - 'The Parker Fly', not this particular example - but whilst it's a design you're likely to like or loathe, the quality (of construction and tone) and playability is unquestionable. The neck is ultra-slim (but ultra-stable; there is a MM style truss-rod, with key, but have never needed to use it!) and extremely quick. Ludicrously expensive when new/introduced (£2k+) and are now hard to find - particularly in this condition (mint, with the original Parker/Levys gig-bag, also mint, and with all the accompanying bits, when new). It's Ultra-lightweight at just under 7 pounds [i]... "with that unique body shape, the Parker Bass features Quilted Maple Top and Back - Body is 12 Layers of Acoustic Guitar Top-grade Sitka Spruce - 24 Fret Solid Mahogany Neck - 12 Layers of Mahogany-wrapped Carbon Cloth Topped w Carbon-glass Fretboard - Figured Maple Headstock - 2 Custom-wound DiMarzio Ultra Jazz Pickups - Fishman Active Piezo Pickup - Fishman Preamp/Mixer System - Gig Bag Included - Transparent Red...
