Favourite Christmas bass line?

For my money, Slade's Merry Xmas Everybody is hard to beat. A great stomping bassline from Jim Lea! (If anyone wants a copy of a spot-on transcription, PM me - I have it from an old magazine)



Closely followed by the bass line to Wham's Last Christmas - I assume played by Deon Estus? Just a nice, nice bass line.

Here it is, the only Elton John song I'll listen to. Great bassline, very groovey and with a nice sense of movement throughout it, it really drives the song. Lovely jazz bass sound too!

A big +1 on the waitresses. The best bass line for me and I have to agree that its slightly annoying.

Got to be the Slade on hasn't it. Mind you when I did a stint with a cabaret band (i know I know, the shame of it ) I was sick of playing it by the end of the Christmas party season in January

BTW, why do people have Christmas party nights in January?

The venues are cheaper, maybe?

Another reason is that they work in an area that cannot take the time off during the christmas period
