I was too preoccupied with the angle of the Low E past the nut and the general placement of the tail piece/bridge. Quote
Jono Bolton Posted January 13, 2008 Author Posted January 13, 2008 A translation of the the item description: "Very interesting prototype E-bass out of German fabrication out of the 60er-Jahren, probably of Framus or Klira. The bass does not sound very good and fat more Hingucker- and show effect goes. A very special instrument for very special people." They're not wrong! Quote

The Burpster Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I believe this is the first time I've said this....... but.... The case is prettier than the bass! Thats sure is one ugly fother mucker! Quote
Guest TheBigBeefChief Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Strange really. Pretty much any bass posted here, no matter how bad, will have at least one fan on the forum. Could this be the first bass (maybe topic??) that everyone is in agreement with? Even I can't pretend to like it, even to be controversial. Quote
lee4 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Proof that Satan's hand has touched the Earth!Burn it at the stake post haste! Quote
Happy Jack Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 The tailpiece could be genuine - it's pretty generic - and the pickup could quite easily be from a real Framus. The neck looks like a butchered version of the necks used by Framus, Klira and Hofner during the 60's. The rest of it is home-made crap of the worst sort. Herr Framus (or Herr SturmbannOberGruppenFuehrer Framus for that matter) is probably spinning in his proverbial at being associated with that thing. Quote
spinynorman Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 (edited) It's in the Rare and Vintage section of their shop. Actually they've put it up before, some time ago. Didn't sell then, for some reason I can't explain. Edited January 14, 2008 by spinynorman Quote
EBS_freak Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I really like it. I'm also a compulsive liar. Quote
s_u_y_* Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 U-G-L-Y, that bass certainly does not have an alibi. Quote
Tait Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 that is sooo ugly! how can anyone in their right mind like that? no one is EVER going to buy it. on a more serious note- why does it need a control plate and a rear cavity? is it just this bass or are there others like that? Quote

warwickhunt Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 If that is a Framus prototype then technically it is a Warwick prototype... even I 'kin hate that Warwick! Oh and if it is a Warwick then in the present bass selling economic climate it's worth precisely eleventy twelve pence. Quote
