Jolana bass 1987

Just came across this curiosity - it's currently for sale in the Czech Republic for about £70.

I kind of like that. I don't remember them though and I started playing in 1988 so I would have thought I'd have come across these.

Maybe a bit too weird for export. Apparently it's a Jolana Disco Bass.

It's a Gibson RD Artist copy. I'd buy that for £70.

I'd also buy a Jolana D Rick copy, given half a chance!

One of these has just come up on Reverb; I’ve never seen one before but I think it’s immensely cool. I won’t be buying it but it does give me an idea for a self-build, with better hardware.

This was my first ever bass in 1989.It was blue/green. I wish I still had it 😐

Jolana is back. I rep them in the US and the Americas. Look for some cool reissues in the near future.
