Thinning/shaving a bass neck

I have a through neck, fretted bass and I want the neck narrower. I've slimmed the backs of necks down myself in the past but this might be abit too much for me to have a go at at home.
Looking for people's recommendations of luthiers in the London area.
I know we have a sticky topic but I'm after some advice and personal recommendations.

Thanks.
I reckon you'd have to defret it. Then fret it again after you'd made the narrowings.

You'd also have to be careful that the truss could handle the extra tension.
I know, the fretting is a bugger as they're perfect at the moment. I'd probably want about 2mm off each side at the nut. Width wise it currently sits somewhere between P and J. I'd imagine the neck should be able to take it as I'm not going pencil skinny with it, just like a slightly slinky jazz.
Could take the oportunity to get some brass frets fitted too since they're gonna have to come off I suppose.
