binky_bass
Hey, I don't know if this is the right category for this, but it seems the most apt (please move to the right place if necessary) Right here's a bit of a story for you... About 18 years ago my grandfather passed away and in his memory we planted a cherry tree in our garden, unfortunately the roots of my granddads tree are pushing up under the conservatory and the tree has been hacked down... So now I'm left with a chunk of cherry tree wood that I'd love to be made into a neck to fit a fender jazz to keep his memory alive through the music I love. Can anyone help with this? Anyone want to make this happen for me? And yes I can pay! Thanks guys, Russ.

Mr. Foxen
I think custom builder Mo Clifton (I think, Bassbods got a few of his works, might have remembered the name wrong) likes working in cherry, but I think for bodies. Might have remembered all of that wrong though.
lettsguitars
yea. cherry is going to make a better body than neck. is the timber seasoned? a year air drying for every inch thickness. if you plan on making a neck, make sure you get some nicely quartersawn boards. i can make you a neck for £110 inc tuners fingerboard and frets.
