JakeBrownBass
Hey guys, currently putting together a function group, and writing out lead sheets/charts for the group is getting a bit tedious. Was just wondering if anyone out there has any that they don't mind sending me?? Anything and everything would be appreciated & it's all the usual suspects that you'd expect. Any help is great You can pm me on here, or email me, Cheers guys Jake
stonecoldbass
Hi Jake, I'm sure I speak for some of the members here in saying that your request is a little bit lazy! Learning tunes and writing out charts is just something that comes with the function band territory mate. There are lots of resources online that can help you out with chord charts etc; Also, working it out for yourself will really help you internalise the tunes faster instead of relying on the hard work of other bass players. Not having a dig mate, just my opinion having been in the same position myself and being told the same thing, I learned a valuable lesson that ultimately improved me as a musician. Good luck! Saves a load of work that way. Of course there are some you will have to transcribe. But you can not get off that easy.. Here are a couple of free notaters. http://musescore.org/ http://www.nch.com.au/notation/index.html http://musettemusic.com/ Or you can get cut down versions of the biggies for about $20.00. Craig
I respect your comments Craig, and if you spent some time in the theory & technique section you will find I'm no stranger to doing the work myself, heck I post it all online for others to use on my website & on here. I made it clear in my first post that I'm doing it my self but any help would be appreciated. Writing out 40+ tunes is a big task for anyone. I've always lived by if you don't ask, you dont get. As such, I was merely asking. Thankyou though, if that's how everyone feels, feel free to close the thread Jake

And after all these days, its about time and work flow. Funny enough i was just thinking the other day - People take time to post up transcriptions and get loads of downloads, and very rarely get a Thank you reply underneath. And you are one of the few who do. Garry Edited December 13, 2010 by lowdown
