If you want big, loud, guitar crushing cabs, I'd have a look and see if Shaggy still has that Mesa Boogie 215 for sale. 800 watts for £300!! You won't get more welly for that price!

To answer your original question, Dood is right about wiring up the power amp.

still should've just respeakered the acoustic, the increase in volume would have been much greater than buying the new head

I may still do this when funds allow! I guess it would be cheaper than a Barefaced cab....
