jez341
Hi folks Got a small collection, jap precision, highway 1 jazz, ibanez 390, g&l l200 tribute. I`m looking at the squire mike drint bass in white. I haven`t been able to find one locally (glasgow) but like the look of it. Was thinking of buying the fender one but can`t justify the cost. Are squire`s any good? Does anyone own one? It`s gonna cost around 200. Any advice appreciated.
Tait
squiers are excellent basses, the pups let them down a little so the first thing I'd do is change them (of course, you may like the pups, just my opinion). I have a squier standard precision, its a brilliant bass. I'd put a BADASS bridge on, too. I played the squier mike dirnt at the london guitar show, its a lovely feeling bass. Definatly go for it if you like it. EDIT: +1 for the emgs below, my dad has some in his precision, they sound great. just like to add seymour duncan quarter pounders sound good, too. steve-soar
I have a 1995 Squier Precision, I changed and added EMG's (with an extra Jazz pup) I fretstoned and set it up and put a Gotoh bridge on it. It's fu**ing amazing, sound, playability, everything. If the stock pup is crap, fit an EMG.
