Whatcha reckon of this finish?

Dude I know has a totally trashed Rickenbacker, and had trouble with smashing the scratchplate, so went for a steel one, but shiny steel wouldn't look right on his knackered bass, had a bit of playing about with fire, and got this:

Depends on the rest of the bass. My worry would be that he would end up looking like a hippie.

Looks good to me. The other alternative is a brillo pad just to take the edge off a shiny substance
