What is the name of the bassist who plays with the bass neck facing down and his plucking hand"under" the bass!?

It's driving me insane that I've forgotten. Help please.

I wouldnt say he played with his hand [i]under[/i] the bass. He played violin as a kid and he just felt more comfortable with the bass in a somewhat similar posistion.
