My Last Bass.

I part-exchanged up for this recently with my Genz Benz Rig to play and also, so I could post it should I be in financial trouble and I am, so...

Here's an Excellent Condition Marleaux Consat Custom Fretless 5. I played one of these against the Overwaters at Penrith Guitar Fayre a couple of years back and they've always stuck in my mind:

Made in 2007 No.995
Milk Chocolate Pearwood Facing
Sutkina Body
Five Piece, Maple/Ebony Six Bolt Neck
Lined Ebony Slab Fingerboard with Zero Fret
34" Scale
45mm Nut
18.5mm String Spacing over a flattened 'C' neck profile
7.7lbs/3.5kg Weight
Schaller Manchineheads
Marleaux custom bridge
Bartolini Soapboar Pickups
Custom Glockenlang Marleaux 3 Band Preamp

Plays anything and most importantly nails Jaco. Its also possible to get that precision tone with cuts out the nasally 'mwah' which gets tiresome when playing root notes. Slaps nice n crisp too with the ebony board. An easy stretch for someone with small hands like myself, ultra defined B string as to be expected from something of this custom quality - £2600 NEW IN THE UK!! Zero Fret too, so theres no unwanted rattling and vibrations from the strings against the wood near the nut - had problems with this on other fretless' i've owned. Flawless.
Ok ive had a couple of festive bevvies, but oli, if you fancy a straight swap with my 78 jazz id be up for it. As i have said to you before, i will always take the jazz back if things dont work out. Merry christmas :)
Merry Christmas to you too Chris! Its a brilliant offer, but for medical reasons I can only play basses 9lbs or under and this is a gem for that. I'm not really keen on trades as I need the money and I don't think anything could top the Marleaux - I'd consider big part exchanges for modern Musicman/Fender/Squier gear however. Thanks again though :)
I owned this for a while and can confirm it really is an amazing intrument. I always liked the 'Egyptian eye' in the grain at the top of the body too :) Good luck with the sale, whoever gets this won't be diappointed

Thanks for the post Graham, its got a lovely vintage jazz punch to it. Sadly its getting more difficult to find a decent high end fretless on BC there was a lovely Sadowsky metro a while back I was hunting for until this. I really like the markings on the lower horn - the facings a beaut but i've never heard of Pearwood before!!

...Stealth Mode on this? :) Turns into a Six string semi acoustic at the flick of a switch? Cool!
BUMP!
Stealth Mode at the flick of a light switch. I've got a semi acoustic! probably why I haven't hunted down that setting so far...it'll be there though :D

Think Musicman Stingray 5 or better.

Back up at £1200 + P&P. I'm adamant to get this back so part exchange options have to reach this (at least :)) . It is a very low chance you'll get me on a trade as I like the vintage settings I get on the Marleaux.

Here's a chap playing a fretted version, the guy with the camera looks away when he hits the B string half way through to look at the guitars but he comes back. You can hear its an ultra defined 34" B though. Soundclip of it fretless up top. 7.7lbs of sheer flawless quality!
