bobbass4k Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Never liked Bass Guitarist, indifferent to Bass Player, prefer Bassist. I also hate "Plays the Bass" too, not sure why, just hate "the" in that context, "Plays bass" is fine, just hate "The Bass" for some reason. Maybe I'm weird. Quote
xilddx Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I couldn't give a sh*t any more. I found out it really doesn't matter. Quote
Blademan_98 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 well I play Bass and I play Guitar but I leave the tag to the audience! Quote
northstreet Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 As long as it's said with a tone of proper respect you can call me pretty much whatever you like. Quote
Bassman Sam Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Stumbles clumsy around a 4 stringed plank would be a good description of me. Quote
Hamsalad Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 'Lord Gorgeous'. I consider anything else disrespectful to my vocation. Quote
icastle Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010
Bass Player, Bassist, Bass Guitarist etc. Which do you prefer to be called ?
"Sir" Quote
Lozz196 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 If talking to a musician, bassist. If talking to a non-musician, bass guitarist - if you say bassist, you just receive quizzical looks, and you can see that thought behind their eyes "whats that then?". Quote
Doddy Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I prefer to be called a musician first. If I have to specify,I refer to myself as a bass player. I'd never say 'bass guitarist' as that is only part of what I do as a bass player. Quote
Clarky Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 El bassissimo, if you please (I'm bored too) Quote
Happy Jack Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 The boring one at the back. In the hat. Quote
thunderbird13 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I'm pretty much indifferent but I feel very uncomfortable calling myself a musician ( as indeed to the people who have heard me play ) Quote
lowdown Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 On my Tax returns - Musician. Not sure the taxman knows what a Bassist is. Garry Quote
ahpook Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 i like being credited as playing 'electric bass' Quote
LiamPodmore Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Lord of the Low notes, or as my band myspace puts me "That humming thing in the background" but out of the OP's 3 choices i'll go Bassist. Liam Quote
