MikanHannille
I'm considering the Ashdown in-terms of price, but I only tried the Ampeg, which I really am inlove with. The problem is I can't seem to find a store with an Ashdown to try. So any inputs about the two are gladly appreciated. pantherairsoft
The Ashdown won't give you the grunt of the mini Ampeg, or the same amount of volume, but for the money its an AWESOME amp. Even better would be to buy this one http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=112388 Bargain! I had one for a while. Its light, compact and loud enough for small acoustic gigs or those without a loud drummer or guitarist. One of the best practice room amps about. charic
I had the Ashdown Perfect 10 which was awesome. Thats all I know though tbh.
MikanHannille
I guess I really need to try it out first. Tone wise, are they quite similar?
SS73
I have a pair of the 210AV Ampeg cabs and they really have a fantastic vintage sound, although I use them with a 70 SVT, I have used other amps and they still give a great sound. Ashdown I have no idea.

iommi1423
i have a 515 combo nd its a beautiful bass amp. but there is no DI out put which can make life hard if you start gigging. if you like the ampegs tone then it really is worth the extra money. but i would strongly reccomend that you check out some reliability reviews first. but if you like the ashdowns tone then heres something to check out http://www.musicstore.com/en_EN/EUR/Basses...-BAS0002758-000 http://www.musicstore.com/en_EN/EUR/Basses...-BAS0002786-000 i have giiged with both of these amps nd i cant say anything wrong with either of them

Some mistake surely. The EB is more expensive than the MAG and they're both more expensive than buying from a Britsh based shop
KiOgon
If you've already fallen in love with the Ampeg I can only imagine the Ashdown being a bit "2nd best" I had a new Five Fifteen as a temporary rig while waiting for the Little Bastard stack I had on order. When the launch of the LB was delayed I was thinking of the SVT micro stack myself but held out I'm pleased to say. So while I've not owned a Ampeg SVT micro, I have had a Ashdown 5/15 & all I can say is - you get what you pay for in most things, so considering the Ampeg is about £450 while the Ashdown is available under £200, it's all a bit apples & oranges. Cheerz, John PS: I've had a couple of large homemade Dolce Vita's which make typing difficult to say the least!
