bassoctopus
I've been unexpectedly bought a 12 string bass for Christmas by some unvbelievably generous friends. It is an awesome sounding thing, but quite tricky to play So good that I've broken my self imposed rule of not posting bedroom playing stuff on Youtube. These are my band playing covers of stuff that originally used 12 string basses, with me playing new takes with the new bass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHrIIQbO0mA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMkG8VQ_Clc Edited December 23, 2010 by bassoctopus

Cat Burrito
Ah, you've edited them! Bass sounds great btw. I've always secretly wanted a Hamer 12 string
bassoctopus
This was a factory second that a dealer in the US was selling on ebay for around $500. I sent it to some friends in the States as a joke saying buy this for me for Christmas - we always do silly stuff like that! I was a bit shocked when they turned up with it the other night I don't think Hamer make them any more, so they are pretty rare. My band do early 90s covers - Kings X/Pearl Jam etc, so the twelve string will fit in perfectly for some of the set I am a very lucky lad! Most people have never heard of them, let alone realise that they're one of the greatest rock bands of all time and should (quite seriously) be bigger than U2! They still make them.
bassoctopus
We all love KingsX in the band (which is called Dogman), so we do 90s alt/metal people know and throw in a couple of Kings X songs to educate the masses!
bassoctopus
I realise it's the CH-12 rather than the B12, but all the sites I've been on in the past year list them as discountinued

I used to have a CH12 & it was bloody great for the money - wish I'd never sold it. I'm a huge fan of Hamer gear - I have owned a lot of Hamer US guitars & am a member of the Hamer forum. I don't think you can buy a better guitar - ludicrously undervalued in this country.

Doc B
I'd love an 8 or 12 stringer but could never justify the cost.
