Mike
Absolutely loving it Mike!....i've been out here for a month and REALLY don't want to come back. Hope ya doing well man. ....cheers for sticking those pic's on stu....your a star!
Glad to hear it! I went for the first time in Nov, wonderful time! I was trying to make a play on words - you don't play in a group called Nu York State then?
devinebass
Hey guys- Mike....yeah i used to play in a band called nu york state but because of free-lancing in so many other bands (for morgage/rent purposes) i had to let it go...which was a real shame as it was good fun and the guy who runs the band is a real good guy. The guy who took over from me is a great player though so if you have the time to go and check them out you should! Dave P.....Nice to here from you man! The four string fretless i have up for sale wasn't based on your 'gary willis' bass as it was built before i met you....but the 5 string with the macasser ebony top certainly was! I studied with mr willis over in barcelona as well, and after playing his bass....well...i had to get one made....but with a fancy top! Great to from you! Also i should mention again that the Overwater 5 string also comes with a separate fretless neck with a lined ebony finger board. ....just incase you fancy a bit of fretless action! And the switch you can see on the front of the bass is a 'mute switch'. Take it easy. Scott.
devinebass
Oops....sorry guys, someone asked me if the ramp is detachable and i completely forgot to reply. Anyway.....Yes it is. Cheers. Scott.
Mikey D
Sorry about the wait guys.. been busy. Here are some very quick edits of the bass. Enjoy!
Does anybody want to buy a brand new spector rebop, never gigged!? I done wet my pants looking at that thing. A 5 string fretted bass, based on the GWB...wowsers. On another note...how did you study with Gary in Barcelona? Was it as part of the conservatoire he teaches at or independantly? As I was hoping to get some lessons from him myself.

devinebass
Hi guys, sorry for the real long wait....i've been battling for time. Anyhow these are photos of the benevente, it does come with a fitted hard case aswell. I'll get the photos of the fretless 4 string on by 2nite aswell as the 5 string (but with the fretless neck on it). Thanks again. Scott.
Guest Golchen
That 5 string looks totally awesome! Is that the one with the fretless neck? Is the extra neck thrown in as well? Where abouts are you out of interest? Would a passive bass like that be any good for slapping etc (sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm not very up on basses)
geoffbassist
scotts a dude and all these basses have spent a bit of time at my house, they are all great.....
devinebass
Both necks come with the bass. With the fretless neck i got the guys at overwater to leave the end of the fingerboard raised as thats where i would place my right hand for a nice upright like tone. It gave me the chance to still have a ramp like feel at the end of the fingerboard but also the option of playing crazy high notes!

devinebass
Cheers man but it's not a regular band, a guy i know used to run the entertainment up at a local casino in leeds so he used to just phone around and see who was available on that particular night. Its always great doing them gigs because you never know who your gonna be playing with or what your going to be playing. Here's another clip from the same gig... Matte_black
Devinebass: I remember when your Benavente was for sale at the LowEnd. Brian Barrett was very happy about it. He wrote nothing but great things about it. I almost bought it! Congrats, your band rocks and your playing is exceptionally tasteful. Keep grooving and good luck with the sale!
