sk8
Anyone seen the new American Standard Series? http://www.soundslive.co.uk/search~search~...s~currency~.asp didn't see much on the fender website. Looks like the S1 switching might have gone Edited January 17, 2008 by sk8
john_the_bass
i take it the spec on the website that includes "trem arm" for the precision bass is a typo

john_the_bass
if it's gone on the jazz, which it looks like it has, that's a shame as that did actually perform a useful function

dave_bass5
Cant see what they offer over the HW-One series. I do like the look of the Maple necked Blizzard Pearl one though.
Machines
Prices have gone up a bit haven't they ? It's in MusicMan territory now and they won't win that one..
Old Horse Murphy
I adore Fenders but to pay £800 for a US Standard model? That's pushing it a bit.... I still love them though. Always will

SJA
"Posiflex graphite rods"- I remember they introduced these on the Marcus Miller 5string- I thought the whole point of putting graphite in the neck is because it won't flex? ps. I see there's now an American standard 5string precision. Edited January 17, 2008 by SJA

s_u_y_*
The Fender website says the new maple necks have a gloss finish on the headstock and fingerboard, but have a satin finished neck. That sounds great!

I've just had a count, excluding 5 string varients, left handed varients, and models with more than just a p bass pickup, there are 7! There is also an active precision I've not included. I've looked it up, most of these differences are purely asthetics, I think its way OTT.
Leowasright
OH S**T looks like I'd better hurry up if I want a butterscotch Jazz with a maple neck. Why do they do it when I have just started to re-equip? David H
