what has happened to this band - grreat PUNCHY grindy bass sound on first album

1.00 into vid suddenly gets very exciting....

any thoughts on what he does to get the sound??

pick? tight to the bridge? almost certainly?

pedz? effects?

a sh*t load of mids?
