Very pleased with it & many thanks to Barrie at Bass Gear for his assistance with the purchase.

That's lovely! What's that finish called? It's certainly unique!

Thanks for the comments guys - it sounds and plays as good as it looks!

Finish wise it's one of these;-

This thread is killing me. One day i shall have a fiesta red precision with a rosewood fingerboard, tort pickguard, single coil at the bridge. Slightly sanded down neck. Ah.
oh and stacked knobs. If anyone's feeling generous? :D

My 2012 Am Std P complete with Bass Doc parchment scratchplate. Apologies for the poor pic quality, the light's non existent.

Bored with tort? BORED WITH TORT?? Good job you didn't say that on Thursday night :)

 :P Hey Steve, good to meet you and....what a great gig. That's the kind of band I'd love to be in. Lovely basses and great playing too fella.

That's very kind of you to say and it was a pleasure to meet you too. Glad you enjoyed the gig.

We won't be setting the world alight but we seem to be pretty popular on the Blues circuit and have a good time doing it so it's worth the getting home at 4:30am.

I'm back up your way in August with It's A Beautiful Day - not sure of the precise date or venue so maybe see you then. I may well be touring with the Aerodyne Precisions so no tort plates there!!

the scratchplate looks very close to the bottom edge, particularly on the lower horn, is that supposed to be like that?

Just found out, they only did 150 worlwide <_<

And i know the guy that has #4 of those 150. They are beautiful basses, there's no doubt about that.

Is it not just the lining of the case that obscures part of the bottom edge?

Posted

Thanks for the comments guys & yes, the scratchplate is fine. I think a combination of the case lining, shadow & my poor photography skills make it appear close to the edge!
