Yes... want to Spruce up my P, so I'm starting to Pine for one, though it may look a bit Plane... they may become Poplar.

This is absolutely lovely, great condition, what year is it?, '65?

Also, the Antigua finish is certainly an acquired taste, but your 2 are in lovely, unfaded condition, havent seen a fretless version before either, is it a factory fretless or conversion?? Nice bunch indeed!! :)

LOL, I know that feeling very well, Mrs Rick is constantly hassling me to make space, we really don't have the space to justify 15 basses (To be honest does anybody??). Our Son is moving into the current 'guitar' room in July, which leaves a tiny box room, which just 'aint gonna work, so I have to choose which ones to let go between now and then.......bad times!! :( :(

Lovely '65 by the way, are you sure you don't wanna sell that one???

That is one cool looking bass guitar :)
Can you tell us more about it ?
I love the wood grain and colour

Thanks - more details herehttp://basschat.co.uk/topic/157452-firecreek-thinline-p5-wengewalnut/
It's a thinline through neck with wenge body and wenge/maple neck. Walnut top with a kinda funky inlayed fretboard to give a bound look to the neck. Heavily chambered to reduce the weight of the wenge and add some thick roundness to the tone which takes some of the edge of the emg. Overall very nice round sound that cuts through a noisy band really well live.

Like i said earlier in the thread, here's my little treat:

Its a lovely Candy Apple Red n Maple 1986 Fender Japan Precision, almost all original complete with original hardcase. Unfortunately, it's been modded to have an EMG Active Pickup and subsequently has a battery compartment routed in too, but for £380 i can't complain.

Sorry about the crappy pics, my phone seems to have messed up when i took them, so i'll take some better ones soon.

Front:

Back (Notice the battery compartment):

Headstock:

Body:

And one with the chrome covers for good measure:

Only just noticed how crap these images actually are, i need some sun so i can get some better ones, but in Bolton thats a VERY big ask.

That's the one of the coolest P's I've seen. A pity that she has those EMG's (I guess - I don't like their sound too much). If you want to replace it with something, try expensive but worthy 'Ligthnin' Rod' pickup by Seymour Duncan - they're active but deliver truly vintage sound. Don't know how they did this :D
