The mute comes factory fitted as standard and with the perfect pressure setting out of the box. I understand some people have issues with it pushing the tuning sharp. I’m still trying to get the best from the Head and the two SL112s. Sounds fantastic but I can’t help but feel a cab is distorting around 12 o’clock 😰

lamp
A couple of P’s to show off - 1966 (sunburst & tort) - 1983 Fullerton ‘62 RI (red & tort) - 1977 (natural) - 2000 MIM (sunburst & black) Technically I’m cheating on the 1977, as it’s now ‘left the building’. The ‘66 is everything you’d expect, but perhaps surprisingly, the Mexican is my longest serving bass and honestly, despite having owned about 25 basses over the years, remains the ‘all time’ favourite. It had SD quarter pounders and a Schaller bridge. Just something very playable and ‘easy’ about it.

Pow_22
My MIJ 57ri from the 90’s. Acquired off of Bagsieblue of this parish. Stunning instrument, very light and great thump. Usually stick pribora pickups in my P’s but this came loaded with a Fender 62 Original which just sounds great. Strung here with Fender flats as my usual Elites were a little TOO thumpy for this latest project. Seen here with an Ampeg SVT and 2x12 cab

Its an original USA B50r. Awesome valvey tone and way louder than a 50w 1x12 has any right to be. Beautiful amps

Jono Bolton
A rare dry, sunny afternoon in Glasgow so took the opportunity to try and get some better pictures of this: a Squier JV Precision, refinished in Shell Pink nitro by David Wilson. Bought on ebay and in rough shape, but plays brilliantly; the neck is truly superb. The pickup is from the Creamery, the pickguard was custom-made by a guy in Glasgow in aged white, the wiring and - I think - the bridge had been replaced before I got it. Nice light weight to it too. Jono Bolton
When I received it, it was in a sorry state. It was originally sunburst, but had been routed for a Jazz pickup which had been filled (badly) and resprayed (also badly) in not-quite-Fiesta Red. I got it cheap and set about turning it into the beast above. There's still a slight shadow of the Jazz routing that you can only see in certain light, but David did a smashing job of sorting it all out for me.
