That a lush lot

Cheers. Sadly all too chunky for me theses days and most likely will be on sale here at some point!

I do Prefer a Jazz neck these days and use an Aerodyne Jazz pretty much all the time.

My latest additions….

First up a beautiful Roger Waters sig.  The B/W/B plate was already fitted to the bass (I have the original single ply black one too) but it’s now also sporting a Gotoh 201 bridge, chrome flat topped knobs, a Kiogon loom and my favoured Custom Shop ‘62 pickup. It sounds superb and plays beautifully.  The big, chunky necks on these really do suit me.

Next, as I had a Status P neck loitering in the corner of my man cave, I snapped up this first series Squier Classic Vibe body in Sonic Blue (the holes for the bridge have been redrilled to take a std BBOT). Again it sounds great and plays really well straight off the bat with no neck adjustment, shims etc required.  Ordinarily I would’ve put a black plate on it by now, but I think it looks great as it is.  I’m loving the colour contrast between the neck and the body.

All in all, very pleased. 😁

None more black.

I’ll admit that it was in the back of my mind when I bought the RW but honestly, that thick C maple neck feels and plays so well that I don’t want to change a thing.

Thank you so much. I've not played my other 2 vintage basses since I bought this one. It plays and sounds awesome and it's also converted me into playing Flatwound strings!

Yes you probably have seen them on here. I have a 1980 Musicman Sabre (Natural finish) and a 1975 Rickenbacker (Burgundyglo finish).

Having a P on the sofa is very satisfying.
Here are my 2 bitsas.

Fretless has tonerider pups and series/parallel switching.

Fretted just been put together and soon to have some SD pups replacements.

Put a cheeky “Finder” decal on.

Loving the look even more since I changed the white pick guard.

Changed the stock Fender strings to a set of Addagio Flat wounds 45 to 100s for the price one cant go wrong.

Ooh that compound radius spec sounds like it’d be wonderful 🥰

Yes it’s really nice, quite similar to recent ‘Elite’ fender range but with more vintage feel towards the nut.  It took me about 2 years to find the right combination of strings, relief, and string height to balance the setup at both ends of the neck though!

The whole vibe is a nice of mix of 50s chunkiness, 60s width, and modern ‘soloing’ radius. I love it

That looks like an awesome beast!  I’d be tempted to see what cream strat knobs look like on it - the pu covers and bridge give. Different vibe to a P visually.
