spacecowboy Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 A couple of shots of my Squier CV60s P Bass with Aguilar Pickups at a recent studio recording session, I don't know what it is but this bass is very special. 8 Quote
BassAgent Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Cool photos too! Are there flats on that bass? The fretboard looks killer as well. 1 Quote

Yes LaBellas they’re about 2 years old so still fresh! 😂! The fretboard is Laurel, someone did a good job of lining up a bit of the circular grain around a fret dot which I really appreciate! spacecowboy Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 New to me 5 string USA P arrived yesterday. It is absolutely wonderful to play. Got it setup with Ken Smith master series taper core strings which are my new favourite roundwounds, got two other P’s strung with flats so decided for rounds on this one. Going to gig it tonight so really looking forward to seeing how it performs! Only question now is… gold anodised pickguard or not?! 4 Quote

They don't come as standard, but I find the B string retainer works well on these 5 strings.. 2 Quote
Chadu25 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 (edited) Sharing my American Vintage II Precision. Changed the black covers of the Pure Vintage pickups to Cream and installed the bridge cover. Love how it turned out. Edited October 2, 2024 by Chadu25 8 Quote

While I love mine, I do have one issue - the side dots are hard to see at the best of times and virtually invisible under some stage lighting. I am contemplating sticking on temporary dots. Quote

Jono Bolton Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Swapped the Fender Classic 50s neck for a 62RI one as I felt the rosewood fitted the colour scheme better than the maple. I've got a mint green pickguard from BC favourite earlpilanz on it just now but ideally I'd like a tortoiseshell one; I just haven't been able to find one that matches the image I have in my head. 7 Quote
Bassman68 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago My trio of Squier P basses The sunburst PJ is a VM The white PJ started life as a Affinity but I acquired a CV 70’s neck from Spacecowboy from this very parish, Hi-mass bridge, custom loom & a set of Toneriders. The orange is a real bitsa, with the original affinity neck from the white one, a ratty body from Orangepeelneil & the rest mostly raided from my spares bin..The Neo Entwistle pickup gives it a great punky JJ rasp 6 Quote
mowf Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Ok, I'll bite. 1) 1975 refinished Daphne Blue (at least that was the colour I asked for). Bought for £450 in about 1997, it was a horrible kind of orange peely red. Possibly the nastiest neck I've ever seen, looks like parts of it were sanded down and then varnished with a wallpaper brush. Forget playing anything up the dusty end, BUT it's got a very old set of flatwounds and sounds gorgeous. Much heavier than my other two. 2) 1964 Sunburst. All original, my holy grail bass. 3) 1975 natural refinish. Got this for £450 (£400 plus £50 for stripping off the horrible DIY snakeskin finish) from Birmingham Musical Exchange in 1996. Seymour Duncan Quarterpounders, Schaller bridge, in many ways it resembles Fender's Nate Mendel signature Precision. A bit of a dog but the most comfortable neck ever.
