jakenewmanbass Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 That looks like maple facings on a mahogany body to me... nice too. Good luck with the sale, these are lovely basses.
Clarky Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011
Where's Clarky? Bump
Here's Clarky bump. Lovely bass which I would buy back if I had the money (I don't so could only offer a trade-plus-cash for my fender 62 reissue p/j, which would not help you clear out)
Cairobill Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 This bass makes me want to play "Lady Cab Driver"... Preferred axe of the amazing Brownmark, bassist in Princes greatest band, the Revolution... Muuuust resiiiist
Cairobill Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 And to aid the sale so I don't do something silly, here's a standup dude playing one of these through a Glockenklang rig. They sound very good... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq7Kg3cIt6k
Clarky Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) and here's the same dude playing his Spoiler in close up, so you can see the bass in detail Shame I do not have the dosh right now Edited January 5, 2011 by Clarky
Jigster Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 lovely looking thing - anyone who can source this bass rocking out clean? - every Cliff B one I find he's got effects all over it...
I played my old black Spoiler at the Punkfest last summer (without effects). Great rock bass. You can J or P type sounds out of it and a nice crunchy tone by mixing the two pickups. If you listen to the bass sound on the Black Album (eg Sandman) you will get a good approximation of what this can sound like.
Gust0o Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I've played this one! It's an excellent instrument, as one would expect from an Alembic; and kept in superb condition by Deaver - who, I might add, is a fantastic chap.
deaver Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 All the way from page 9 type reminder. Blimey, I remember when it was all fields round here
deaver Posted February 4, 2011 Author Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) Last chance before it heads abroad (EDIT: Not happening now, decided against overseas shipping) Edited February 7, 2011 by deaver
