Yes, yes, I know its not on for several hours yet but i thought Id be cheeky and start a pre emptive thread as JH shows always seem to raise discussion. :) :)
Well, I'll be full of Cava by then, Kylie and Roger Daltrey are on so it's safe to say I'll enjoy it to the full. I always nearly do.

Initial thoughts...
1. Aguilar rig behind Dave Swift :)
2. My god, is that really Alison Moyet.?? Wow!
3. Bellowhead get better every time I see them.

God, Wish I played alongside that Bu++ger!
That is some rhythm section tough.
Absolutely first class.
I really don't rate him in the slightest. I've played opposite Jools' band a few times, and I think that Gilson has no balls or drive in him. He doesn't swing that much either.

So, was there anything worthwhile to make me watch it on iplayer or download it? Saw a few seconds of Kylie being a chipmunk and (later) Alison Moyet not being a chipmunk.

Got to say, I don't get it either. Wouldn't be my pick from what little I can see.

I only caught half an hour of it but that was enough.

Most of the acts were loathsome and the sycophantic talk was nauseating, as usual, with JH.

Missed Daultrey, unfortunately.

There was some nice basses on show, though. The guy in Vampire Weekend, seemed to be playing an Italia. And the house band's 6-string bass, looks amazing.

I think he's awesome in this clip... especially as it builds toward the end...

I have no opinion, never seeing him live. I do know that when he was sacked by Tilbrook and Difford, they were genuinely terrified he would savagely beat them up. They actually lived in fear for some time, even though he had made no threats.

ps: B.O.T.D. (Beware Of The Drummer. and do not forsake him) :)

See post #5 :) the time will come and to be fair from what I saw its probably the most interesting point we can discuss! Except for the where was the rest of Alison Moyet debate! :)

Unfortunately she seems to have lost her singing voice too - she sounded like Vic Reeves doing his club singer routine last night .

Well, I saw the line up and wasn't expecting too much. Only saw/heard it from 11.25 up to midnight and then had to rush around separating two antagonisitic cats when the fireworks went off. More fireworks outside than on the box.

The whole vibe seemed wrong. Too many slow boring introspective ballads. Alison Moyet, Rumer (only heard her from the kitchen), the Secret Sisters, Ce-Lo Green . The talent may well be there, but I don't need four like that on the same bill.
It's New Years Eve people, let's party.

Balcro.

I thought it was just dull;

Kylie was awful, JH seemed on the back foot, there were too many slow songs (Plan B were good), Daltrey was poor (bad choice of song too). It didn't work for me...

The Dingwall was worth a look though :)

Being a fan, I waited for Roger Daltrey and wished I hadn't. He murdered the Blues and it was cringeworthy. I liked Secret Sister, thought they were good and Ce-Lo Green - he can belt a song out. Plan B were good but not my cup of tea. Best bit of the show for me was the Dingwall....and the end.
