Thurbs
I wonder if you could enlighten me... is this a good idea? Guitar > Behringer MIC2200 valve pre-amp > Behringer CX2310 crossover > Behringer EPQ2000 2 channel amp, 1000w per channel at 4 ohms Amp output 1 > Cab for top end Amp output 2 > Cam for bottom end All that gear can be had for £450. The only downside I can see is developing tinnitus within about 5 seconds of playing.... What am I missing?

Behringer seem to have a pretty poor reputation as far as their power amps go (although the outboard studio stuff is quite reasonable for the price). Musky
Behringer don't provide RMS figures for the power of their amps, so the actual RMS is likely to be about half of the figure they're stating.
niceguyhomer
Can't think why you would need 2k?

The EPQ2000 does 700W per side (RMS) according to the PDF brochure on their web site. The MIC2200 is not a good choice for a bass preamp. It's designed as a microphone preamp and the input impedance is way too low for a bass. You might get away with it with an active bass but definitely not good for a passive. flyfisher
Can't think why you would need 2k?
That was my first thought. I've no experience of playing very large venues but I've always imagined that the PA takes over in such situations. Thus the stage gear is really for tone and for the bass player to hear, not the audience. But I'd be pleased to hear some more experienced views on this. Alien
I'd forget the EPQ2000 and get this instead. Total bargain - even running at 4 Ohms per side that's less than 10p per Watt. I used to run the 1500 version, both as PA and as part or my bass rig, and never had a problem with them. The only downside is that they ain't light. A

Phil Starr
Behringer stuff doesn't have a good reputation but we have been using an EP1500 for years without problems and as a result I've just bought an EP2500. Their digital stuff seems to have problems because of poor connectors and their instrument amps don't sound too good but some of their PA seems ok. the biggest problem is their after sales which is on a par with Apple.
