charic Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I'd say GK, it looks pretty smart too so it should attract attention through looks alone. Quote
icastle Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 (edited)
Thanks for that shout on the ampeg stuff, I will be per suing that today
Two others that fall in the price bracket are the SWR LA series and some models by Laney. I think you're going to struggle to do better than Hartke for the £ per watt enticement that your customers are looking for though... I haven't thought it through carefully (I don't know your business structure or limitations after all) but have you considered finding a far eastern 'generic' supplier and doing a rebrand at all? thodrik Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I would maybe say the ampeg BA combos as well. Not very moveable or loud for their size, but will always deliver good tone, be loud enough for gigs and ampeg have good name recognition amongst the general public. Hartke would also be a good one, though I'm in the minority of folk that don't like the Hartke aluminium speaker cones. Good luck. Quote
Mog Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) What about Kustom and Drive. Seem to be all over the place over here. Edit: Are Torque amps still around? Always did a solid amp did Torque. Edited January 6, 2011 by Mog Quote

willyf87 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) i'd be tempted to have a look at gallien krueger, heard good things about there stuff. EDIT my bad you already stock it, really should have started at the beginning haha!! Edited January 7, 2011 by willyf87 Quote
charic Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011
Behringer? It's okay. I'll get my coat.
Might be worth getting one, it makes everything else look so much better Quote
Count Bassie Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 The Hartke combos are very good. Even the small ones can throw right out to the back of a decent-sized room without PA. Don't know how they do it, but it's a solid sound and reliable gear. If I owned a music store I'd buy one and bring it to gigs for demo purposes. Quote
Happy Jack Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Having just seen that Orange are launching the Terror Bass as a combo or two, it might be worth giving them a bell ... Quote

skej21 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, as I didn't read the entire thread but maybe you could try Warwick combos? Never played their combos before but they will fall into that price range and I would think it's quite a strong brand that would sell itself really. Maybe something like the CCL 210 ND8, CCL ND8 or Sweet 15.3? Edited January 8, 2011 by skej21 Quote
JMT3781 Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 Thanks for all suggestions, today I placed a pretty big order with hartke. Ordered a range of stuff, got an lh500 head with one of the new ak cabs. Also got one of the hydrive combos, a 2x10 with an lh500, which I'm looking forward to seeing. Also got some of the b series stuff, and will maybe get a kickback combo if the price comes down a bit. Thanks for all the input! Quote
Musicman20 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Hartke, Gallien or the Ampeg combos. The Hartke LH heads are FANTASTIC value. Quote
