El Bajo
Anybody use online lessons to supplement their learning. I use the below to learn some Slap bass riffs (so I don't look like a complete tool when trying out basses in the music shop , or during rehersals where I then look up to see if anybody noticed, which they don't ). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXfS3HYSiZo I need more input...
Peaty
MarlowDK was on you tube but now has a separate site. He has some good clear explanations and examples http://playbassnow.com/category/bass-lick-of-the-day/

El Bajo
What a great site. Love little snippets and examples that encourage, motivate and add colour to bass lines.

paul_5
Where was this thread last week?, that's what I'd like to know! Don't try a search for 'double-thumbing' on a work terminal. Explaining what I was doing to the head of computer support is not a meeting I'd like to repeat.
Faithless
It's not actually 'Youtube one', but I'm digging Janek Gwizdala's Video Podcasts, that are available through his site. It's not free, though, goes about 50 dollars for three month membership (access to all videos, they're downloadable, and access to private forum, so you can discuss, share things and ideas with other members, and the Man himself..) You can check this teaser yourself: http://www.youtube.com/user/janekgwizdala#p/u/5/iXfGdbb3ymg cheers Faith

I got someone into a similar, but milder spot the other week when I recommended the Android tuner app gStrings, which they promptly googled from work. Shawman
i've been getting into more tapping stuff again lately, so these 2 videos have got me right back into it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z33MKtJm0K8...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP6CGbeX14A just some nice runs which you can take in any direction you want, especially the first one
dougie
Most the stuff ive learned has been from Scotts site, intending starting his video tutoring soon as due to my work schedule i cant pre book lessons with anyone locally, his stuff i found on Youtube from day 1 has kept me interested in bass and by far the best ive seen online, others i tried albeit excellent players seem to forget picking up an instrument from scratch is challenging and what they find really basic and easy is total alien to the likes of me.....good to see these guys though that love what they do so much they take time out to share it with us. devinebass
Thanks for the plug Dougie! Just to let you know i'm actually working on another lessons website which is going to have a lot more content than my existing one. Not only will it have all the old stuff, it's going to have shorter lessons that will be a little easier to grasp than the ones i've got up now and will also have different sections for example... rhythmic studies, tunes analysis, improvisation, learning the jazz language etc. It's still not going to be a website for the complete novice though as there's so many great ones about (http://www.playbassnow.com) the last thing we need is another one. Watch this space! Scott.
