0353203
I recently bought this 1966 Fender Bass V - I think these were the first ever 5 string basses. As it has 4 more strings than are good for me, I just thought I'd post a couple of pics and ask you guys to post pics of your 5 string beasts to see how the evolution continued Cheers, Si Edited January 12, 2011 by 353203

EdwardHimself
I really didn't get why those basses only had 15 frets. It's as if mr. Fender decided that basses should only have x amount of notes in which case he might as well just have stuck with 4 string basses with 5 frets surely? 0353203
I think it speaks volumes that when Leo was asked about the Bass V later in his life, he had no recollection of it whatsoever.
Delberthot
That's one of the basses I have on my list that I'd still love to own
franzbassist
Is that the one that was in The Gallery? I so wanted that bass; it was created the same year as me!
wotnwhy
Lovely bass there! Quite different to mine, which came into this world almost 40 years later in 2004 Edited January 7, 2011 by wotnwhy
EdwardHimself
I suppose EH might as well have a go with his 5 strings, from first to last: Cheapo shine SCG nanyo copy type bass. Peavey millenium AC BXP Peavey international series (modded, EMG preamp) The 2nd peavey is the only one I have now.

Except the EBMM SUB but I'm not going to keep that one. If I sold them all I still wouldn't have enough to buy one Fodera.
