Stinkfoot Posted January 6, 2011 Share Posted January 6, 2011 i posted this a few months ago over on another forum but would like to hear more thoughts or ideas, i have a standard 4 string Corvette Rock bass & looking into the idea of using the 4 low strings of a 5 string set but only tuned to D,E,A.D, & as the 5 string gauge of string is usually to be tuned B,E,A,D.G would this require any neck adjustment Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
willyf87 Posted January 6, 2011 Share Posted January 6, 2011 You may have to do some adjustments, the only major one I can think of is widening the nut grooves for the new strings and your more than likely will have to adjust the truss rod and bridge saddles.
