Meaning?

You're a BC staffer, member number 2 in fact, which makes your narrow-minded attitude of how the instrument should and shouldn't be played ("egotistical when the whole band is used as a vehicle for the bass" and "I don't think the bass works as a solo instrument") frankly quite frightening!

You've upset Sir, you really have!

hmmmm I think she can handle the bass slot and she can handle the vocals..sort of, but she would have a LOT of competition with the latter and may drown.... but she can't do both well enough at the same time, IMO.

I think she should make up her mind what she wants to be..

Like her bass playing though. Like the drummer better.

I couldn't possibly question the quality of her bass playing, but I would definitely question the quality of her music! The drummer in the first clip is my idea of a nightmare I think!

Yeah, she is dwarfed by that TRB! It looks massive! John Patitucci knows a thing or two about having great singature basses though.

I shall stop reading BassChat *now* and go do some practise <spanks self....>

You can see why she picked a very busy OTT drummer though...as everything falls flat when she has to sing and play and the drums take up the slack.

I say that on the basis of a couple of tracks posted in the OP.

And of course it's a well-known fact that BC staffers are not allowed to have, or express, opinions on anything. :)

I see Basschat even gets a mentioned in the comments to the first video by muso247! Who is this? Are they a BC'er

Hur hur hur, you said 'male members'!

Seriously though, this girl's got some skills, definitely on the 'watch' list.
Haha that made me laugh out loud!

I think we sometimes miss the point by trying to over analyse. Yeah she showboats and possibly there's better singers but that's her act. Like it or leave it. Many of the most successful solo artists ever have relied on a mix of their showboating and their talent. That's what makes them a front man / woman rather than just a musician in a band. Might not make the best show if she was just to stand at the back where bass players usually stand. It clearly appeals to some and not to others. I enjoyed it and can see her obvious talent as both a player and performer but probably wouldn't want to buy her albums or watch a full 2hr show. Thanks to the OP for posting tho as I wouldn't have seen her otherwise.
