ras52
I'm vaguely looking for my next bass, 4-string, twin pickups, passive or active/passive, trad body shape. I'm liking the look of the G&L and wondered if anyone had experience of it. gary mac
Can't really comment on the JB2, but I recently got myself a G&L SB1 and have to say it's an impressive beast. Passive but very powerful. Excellent build quality. Fenders get all the attention generally but there is a lot of love for G&L's once tried. ras52
I liked the look of the SB-2 too, but not the absence of a tone control!? Is your SB a USA or a Tribute model? I've only just worked out the difference after some puzzlement at widely differing prices.
gary mac
Mine a US one, got it on ebay. I had been on the hunt for an old Precision, but didn't have the funds, saw the G&L and just put a very last minute bid in. When it arrived I was concerned that I had lumbered myself with an old dog as it was virtually unplayable, fret buzz over the entire neck. Once I had calmed down, given the truss rod a tweek and set the action, all was well. Gigs have been thin on the ground of late, so it's only had two outings so far but I'm very impressed with it. There is a thread somewhere in Gear Porn with some pics.
