Can anyone identify what make these strings are? They came on my current DB when I bought it but I swapped them out for TI Spirocores. The E Spiro broke recently so I put the E from this set back on and it has a lovely clear sharp tone to it. They were not good for bowing so I would suspect a pizz string of some sort. Thanks for any help.
The G does have a different ball end, solid as oposed to the hole in the other two. The silks on each string are different colours too. :)
The different coloured silks on each string is normal even for the same set, particularly at the tuner end.... it's more unusual to have different colours at the ball end (of the same make) but the d and a do look part of the same set.... ooh, a poser!

I'll have a think and a root around see if i can find anything.... no promises mind! :)

Thanks daf. It seems to have everyone stumpped. I've emailed the Violin Shop in Glasgow where I bought the bass but that was about five or six years ago so I don't know if they will be able to help either. Hmm.
